One of my first sports clients was the Montreal Toundra, a newly-established basketball club in my city.

Ahead of their second season, they asked me to create a character inspired by their owl logo, which I developed into a dynamic, superhero-like illustration for collectible trading cards at their Comic-Con booth.

It was a fun challenge: while designing a fully realized character, I wanted to keep key elements of their owl logo—the colors, shapes, and some of the accessories—so it still felt true to their brand.

Later, we would end up collaborating on more illustrations for their players.
